Relationship to son, John G., is similarly supported. There is also a connection between a father, Henry Owens, and son, John G. Owens, cited in the "Centenial History of Belmont County" published in 1903. Additional information contained in History of Upper Ohio Valley. Emigrated to Philidelphia, PA, from Ireland at age 12 according to History of Upper Ohio Valley, page 751. Henry Owens who settled in Richlan Township in the late 1700s was a soldier in the War of 1812 (pg 249 of History of Belmont and Jefferson Counties)
